Dr. Frank Karbenn steps down from active management

Effective January 1, 2023, Dr. Felix Dehmel has been appointed Managing Director of HKCF Corporate Finance GmbH (HKCF). At the same time, Dr. Frank Karbenn, Co-Founder and long-standing Managing Partner of HKCF, will retire from his active role in the firm.

“Together with my partners, I have had the privilege of positioning HKCF as a leading corporate finance advisor, building and developing an outstanding team, and earning the continued trust of our clients. As I now turn to a new chapter in life, I do so with deep pride in what we have achieved together. I am fully confident that HKCF’s future is in excellent hands with Martin Lawin, Felix Dehmel and Thomas Gabelmann,” said Dr. Frank Karbenn, Managing Partner of HKCF.

“We owe Frank our sincerest thanks and deeply regret his departure. As a founding partner and long-time managing director, he has played a defining role in shaping HKCF and establishing the brand in the market. It has been an honor to work alongside him for 17 years,” added Martin Lawin, who has co-led the firm with Dr. Karbenn since early 2019.

Dr. Dehmel joined HKCF as a partner in early 2019. Prior to that, he held various senior leadership roles at a DAX-listed corporate, following his earlier career at an international investment bank in the M&A division, with a focus on energy, the public sector, and infrastructure.
