Corporate Financing of BS|ENERGY
HKCF Corporate Finance advised Braunschweig-based BS|ENERGY on the successful financing project with a total volume of more than € 325 million.
The core activities of BS|ENERGY are the supply of energy (electricity, gas, district heating), water, lighting and infrastructure to the citizens of Braunschweig. Electricity and gas sales are also active throughout Germany.
The main shareholder of BS|ENERGY is the French supply and disposal company Veolia (50.1%). The other shareholders are the city of Braunschweig (25.1%) and the municipal utility cooperation Thüga (24.8%).
The loans raised are primarily used to finance the “Generation Strategy 2030” project, which aims to convert the existing power plant fleet to more climate-friendly, efficient heat generation. Key components of this project include the construction of a biomass and a gas turbine cogeneration plant. In addition to the E2030 project, the funds raised will also be used to finance regular investment activities in supply facilities and general corporate financing.
