HKCF advises Energie und Wasser Potsdam on the implementation of €375 million in debt financing
This is a major milestone for Potsdam’s heating transition and we are delighted to have been part of this groundbreaking project as an exclusive debt advisor. With the signing of the loan agreements, financing for the conversion of Potsdam’s heat supply is now secured. HKCF provided Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH with comprehensive support in structuring and implementing the debt financing. A total of €375 million was successfully arranged, €200 million of which was as a syndicated loan. This financing forms the foundation for the phase-out of fossil fuels and the transition to a modern, climate-friendly heating infrastructure – with a particular focus on deep geothermal energy, decentralized solutions and renewable energy sources.
